Objective Resurvey of line put in by Lais and Hunsucker to correctly place the new sink on the map. Line check and repair as needed.
Logistics Swimming dive, 3 man team, back gas only. No decompression.
Bottom Time 83 mins
Maximum Depth 69 feet
Results Successful dive. Line repaired through Split sink. Resurvey of line from the center of Emerald to the small sink on the left a few hundred feet upstream of Emerald. Slight green tint to water, but diveable w/ approx 70′ of visibility. Line checked and cleaned from Cheryl through Split and out to Emerald, appears to still be in good condition.

Objective Push side leads located in excess of 15k
Logistics Halcyon breahter with two drive bottles 10/85, 5 gavins, EE HID with Nicad
Bottom Time 130min
Maximum Depth 300
Results Visibility in Wakulla Springs was greatly declined. Following the line was not particularly difficult but choosing the proper leads is more difficult and time is better invested with clear water where it is more reasonable to establish connection tunnels and evaluate flow, surface water intrusion, sediment, paleoflow conditions and the like. Jablonski and Irvine called the dive at 8k choosing to save exploration for more effective exposures.

Logistics Triple stage. Double scooters.
Bottom Time 50 minutes
Maximum Depth 293

Objective Check visibility and flow upstream past the Black Abyss.
Logistics Single Stage, Single Scooter
Bottom Time 52 min.
Maximum Depth 192
Results Rode in through the Black Abyss to the restriction. Flow was way down. Water level also way down (by 2′ for this time of year). The water is not tannic but it is almost stagnant looking. It got bluer at 170′ but is not yet adequate for exploration. This means that southern Leon Sinks is definitely not explorable by now. Scootered around the Black Abyss and then did the decompression by riding over to Emerald. Corrected Line Arrows that were facing the wrong direction and removed Hero Clips from the upstream. Did oxygen in the trough to fill it back up.

Objective 4500 Clean Up – Retrieve 2 42ah scooters from the 4500 stage drop left by the lead rebreather team the prior day.
Logistics Triple stage, 2 towed safety scooters. The usual 300′ mix.
Bottom Time 48 minutes
Maximum Depth 292
Results Dive objective met with significant gas to spare. Clarity in A tunnel was the best thus far in 2000. K-tunnel had over 100 ft. of cobalt blue vis.

Logistics Double Stage. Towed long tube safety scooters per team member. The usual 300′ bottom mix and deco gases (190, 120, 70, Oxygen).
Bottom Time 44
Maximum Depth 293
Results Objective accomplished smoothly. Visibility in A tunnel ranged from 50-80 feet.

Objective Push additional safety bottles out beyond 15,000′ while evaluating exploration leads.
Logistics Five Gavin Scooters, EE HID with Nicad batteries, Halcyon breather with 2 single 80 drive bottles 10/85, safety bottles to be pushed into cave
Bottom Time 6.5 hours
Maximum Depth 300′
Results Dive was very successful with set up going so smoothly that George and JJ decided to continue on evaluating leads along the way and marking areas for future penetrations. The duo ended up at the end of the line and tied in for additional exploration laying approximately 200′ of line and then deciding that the passage shape and lack of flow indicated this area does not hold the best promise for future exploration dives. The exit was made smoothly while marking and evaluating Additional leads from 18 to approximately 10k.
