Objective Check downstream Emerald: main tunnel to Clearcut and parallel tunnel to Fish for leads and tannic water source
Logistics Double stage w/ towed backup Gavin
Bottom Time 60
Maximum Depth 195
Results Fish tunnel visibility was 20-30ft and hazy. Lines were everywhere and in very poor condition. Decided time would be better spent in the primary tunnel heading to Clearcut Sink. Travelled past where the arrows turned and the tunnel became shallow (140ft) before dropping back to 160ft. Nothing in the way of leads. Estimate penetration at 4,000 ft. Dive conducted entirely on stage bottles.

Bottom Time :30
Maximum Depth 195′
Results Bottom time based on time at depth past Emerald. Turned dive due to leak developing in the dry suit inflator. Determined that 2-4 oz of lead should be removed from the new Gavin for ideal bouyancy.

Objective Check water clarity and line conditions.
Logistics Single stage, one scooter each.
Bottom Time 50 minutes
Maximum Depth 138 FFW
Results There was a thin, faintly green film on the surface of the pool which none of us had seen before at any site. The water in the basin was fairly clear and high enough to allow us to swim over the log pile. We scootered in to just before the Maxi Blow Tunnel, finding the water clarity up to that point to be better than normal, an estimated 100 feet, with no suspended particulate and only a slight darkness. The lines were in good condition.
